1. What attracted you to Red Tent Australia?
I’d been holding Red Tents throughout the world. USA, Europe, UK, Israel, but never Australia. When I retuned from living abroad I knew I would start a Red Tent in Melbourne. I set it up, rented the venue, made a Facebook event, told people about it…but no one came. It was heart breaking. In all the countries I’d held my circles, women were already interested in hosting me and sharing the event in their communities, but in my home country of Australia, I didn’t have that link. It was a Goddess send to find Red Tent Australia. Suddenly I had the support of a national sisterhood, women along side me, sharing the struggles of low numbers, finding a venue, thinking of themes. Women whose hearts are dedicated to creating a world where Red Tent circles are the norm, not the novelty. I had found my tribe and many best friends.
2. What is your experience to date?
The women of Red Tent Australia are some of the most tireless, giving, caring, considerate, creative, talented and inspiring people working in womens work in this country. Volunteer passion to the highest quality, they go further and beyond to create safe spaces for women to be themselves and experience the magic that sitting in circle offers. The Red Tent Australia facilitators holding womens circles around the country are creative in their ideas to inspire women to learn, grow and deepen themselves each and every month, and the format we all roll with provides a safe container for new and experienced Red Tenters alike. We truly are the space for it all, and all women can come home to their local Red Tent.
3. What do you hope to bring to your community?
Melbourne has a lot of variety when it comes to events, but nothing beats a Red Tent circle. My life as a Priestess, and the countless womens sharing circles I’ve held has shown me that the simple act of coming together in a welcoming safe and sacred container gives us all the chance to drop the pretence, even for a moment, and sink into to what truly is.
I provide a space of total acceptance, Zero judgment, nothing shocks me & nothing shames. I’m so excited to provide a diverse space for the Queer community, for women of all gender backgrounds and ethnic or spiritual/religious creeds, all ages, all sizes, a beautiful rainbow of Red Tent joy and delight, emotion and sharing, learning and exploration. Goddess knows I’m here to be my authentic self, I can’t wait to shine that light so you can share your unique brilliance in circle too.

1. What attracted you to Red Tent Australia?
I have been intrigued by the concept of the Red Tent for a long time!
Ever since I read the book by Anita Diamant I reflected on how different my life would have been if I had been able to experience a circle of sisterhood like this.
I remember how difficult life was as a young mother struggling to bring up 3 children with minimal family support.
I also remember the loneliness and isolation I felt living in the outer suburbs and the depression I experienced.
Was it meant to be this hard?
I finally found some women’s groups to tap into and my life changed!
I started to run my own circles last year which was amazing and lots of fun, but hard to sustain on my own.
RTA offers me the support and structure I need to continue this important work!
2. What is your experience to date?
I am a Maga woman in my autumn years now and I have successfully raised 3 children to young adulthood (phew!)
I have had a 30+ year career as a nurse and the last 10 years I worked as a district RN in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
I have had wide and varied spiritual experience which includes priestess training and shamanic studies.
Last year I went on an incredible soul journey with the wonderful ‘Wyld Tribe’ to explore my ancestral Celtic connections and the sacred sites of the UK.
I currently work as a marriage celebrant/rites of passage facilitator.
I am also working with the inspiring women of ‘Gaia’s Garden’ to raise a Goddess Temple here in urban Melbourne
3. What do you hope to bring to your community?
I believe women are soul hungry for connection and sisterhood.
Along with my beautiful co-facilitator, Pia, I want to provide a safe and nurturing space for women to gather….. and just be.
A space where we can be truly authentic – with ourselves &=and with each other.
We will explore self-care and wellbeing practices to replenish ourselves and we will reconnect with that ancient memory of belonging to a tribe.
I think it is critical for our wellbeing to gather together and support each other.
I also think it’s critical for the wellbeing of our planet!
If we want to make a real difference we need to reconnect and reclaim our feminine power.
I can’t wait to share the magical gifts of sitting in circle with other women!
