1. What attracted you to Red Tent Australia?

I attended a Red Tent event that Jill the founder was running last year at the Bayside Red Tent. I knew I had found my tribe, a place where I could connect with women, feel supported and be surrounded by like-minded women! I love what the Red Tent stands for with the aim to connect, collaborate and create, – a community of strong educated women in a supportive and nurturing environment. I thought, “yes” finally I found a space to be free, be me, talk freely and be supported and nurtured. I love the spiritual aspect as well as the different types of circles that are run. It truly is a space where I can share and just know that other women have experienced what I have and so I don’t feel alone. To be seen, felt and heard by women is so powerful and we truly connect.

2. What is your experience to date?

I had attended a few Red Tents and from the first day I met Jill she mentioned Red Tent was looking for a facilitator for Wynnum/Manly and I immediately said, “that’s me”. I have lived in the area for over 10 years and have a 10-year-old son Tom. I have worked in sales and business development for over 20years and love working with people. I completed a Certificate III in Holistic Counseling and recently the Red Tent facilitators course. Over 8 years ago I had Breast Cancer and I know how important it is to have great support, nurture yourself and others and stay connected to people. My experience of Red Tent reminds me how to fill up my own cup, so I can help and support myself and others.

3. What do you hope to bring to your community?

I am so excited to rebirth the Wynnum/Manly Red Tent and create a space for women to gather and share their experiences, grow and learn from each other. There are so many great activities, guest speakers, workshops, where women can come together and truly feel cherished, nurtured and supported. I love that the group becomes a tribe of great women who lead, create change and experience growth in ways you just didn’t know existed! It’s a space where you can be yourself, make new friends, speak freely, with no judgement and truly be heard. Plus just have a fabulous fun time, a laugh or a cry!
